You don’t have to start a keep fit program or stop eating
the foods you love in order to shed a little excess weight. By
taking up a new hobby or leisure activity, you can get fitter
doing something you enjoy.
Of course you can’t expect miracles, as you’re not going to
lose a tremendous amount of weight doing a little gardening,
but you are getting fresh air and exercise without even
realizing it.
The best part is, you can take up almost anything you like.
Active hobbies and interests such as DIY or gardening will
yield best results as you’re required to undergo a certain
level of physical exertion. Any other outdoor activities,
games and sports will do the same.
If you want to lose weight quickly, or you wish to lose a
significant amount, leisure activities aren’t the best way to
go about it. If, however, you are just looking to get a little
fresh air whilst doing something constructive, then there is
no reason not to take up a new hobby.
Hobby and leisure activities are unlikely to get you fit or
help you lose much excess weight, though taking to the garden
of a weekend or doing a little home renovation certainly won’t
hurt, plus you’ve got the bonus of having done something
useful with your time.
Walking or cycling will produce much better results, but
for those that don’t want to go far or are unable to, getting
active around the house is a step forward.
