Weight Loss Pills and Medications

There are many pills and medications available on the market that claim to help you lose weight, though it is important to do research before purchasing as the quality and results of these vary heavily.

Diet pills typically work in one of two ways – some block enzymes that are responsible for processing carbohydrates hence producing fat, whilst others are suppressants which are designed to reduce your intake by making you feel full. The former types are believed to be more successful, and there are several well known brands on the market that have been proven to give excellent results.

However, there are also plenty of brands that have shown to have little or no effect, so it is important to check what you are buying first. It should also be remembered that some have side effects, severe in some cases. These can range from mild nausea or tiredness to liver damage and visual impairment, so make sure to read any labels or leaflets carefully before taking any medications.

Vitamins by themselves are not going to help you lose weight, though are ideal should you be dieting. If you are cutting out certain foods, you may also be cutting down on certain vitamins or minerals your body requires, so vitamin pills can be taken as a substitute. As with diet pills, doctor advice is preferable as they will be able to talk you through your requirements, though there are generally very few side effects associated with vitamin pills.

Diet pills can be suitable for most people, though professional advice should be sought in order to get the best results with minimal side effects. Vitamin pills are also suitable for almost everybody, and many claim to benefit from taking these regularly. A well-balanced diet is preferable to allow your body to take in what it needs naturally, though if you are on specialized diets, vitamin pills may be advisable if not necessary.
