Weight Loss Success StoriesHow I
Lost 70 pounds with my Partner's Help
This was like 4 years ago. A friend of mine had arrived after
a 5 months work travel and she looked quite fine. She lost
about 60 pounds just because where she was staying there was
no bus or car, so she needed to borrow a bike to the
housekeeper of the hostel. Just by traveling about 16
kilometers a day she recovered her beautiful shape and started
to look prettier than ever. When we finally met again, she saw
me just like always, as a 220 pounds sad guy. We were very
close friends, so in a way, I was very happy to know how happy
she was, but in another way i was very unhappy with myself,
and how my body was getting bigger and uglier everyday.
Before her travel, we use to do the same diets, exercises
routines, and almost everything to loose weight. I remember
that one day we spent hours just talking, about how we could
loose weight in an easy way. At that time we were both fat but
still kind of happy because we were each others “Support”.
So when she noticed how unhappy I was she told me she would
help me to get fit .And she did. She went with me to every
doctor visit, she was next to my in every medical test I
needed, and every weight loss session at the kinesiologist.
But she also made me travel alongside her long distances
around my full of hills city just by bike, her new passion.
Combining the diet the doctor gave me, the bike trips around
my hometown, the kinesiologist sessions, and most important of
all my friends support, I lost not 50 pounds, but 70 and got a
strong and healthy body.
I might tell you this wasn’t quite easy after all. I had real
bad moments, but I just couldn’t give up; there was to much
work involved, for me and all around that were supporting me
I’m so glad I have a family and a “special” friend that helped
me to get my goal I can even express it. Without the support
of all these people I think I couldn’t have been able to do
it. I’m a very lazy person in that way, so it’s difficult to
start doing something that hard and finish it.
But if you don’t have all of the support I had, don’t think
that it might be hard for you. I was very lucky to have people
caring for my condition, but still, human mind is more
powerful than you might think. Just think of it. My friend
didn’t have anyone’s support during the time she spent
social-working. She just was just by her own, living in a room
she rented. There was no phone, internet or anything like
that, she was totally by herself.
The bike travels helped, but it was her determination to loose
those weight what really made her get fit and in a good shape.
As you might be thinking, nowadays our relation is more than
just friends. She’ll become my wife in two months, and both of
us are fit and healthy, and we are still working to get in a
better shape everyday.
