Changes Helped Lose Weight
3
years ago I reached a top. My studies, combined with a
sedentary way of living and a depression caused by family
problems, slowly made me gain weight. I went from being a
happy 70 kilos guy in a good condition to a 96 kilos fat guy
in about a year. As expected, this “quick” change made me even
unhappier. I felt uglier, and things like stretch marks were
starting to get noticeable. My studies were going great
though, but that was all of my life! All I was doing was
eating and studying and that wasn’t a good balanced way of
living.
But I decided that I couldn’t live like that anymore. So I
made a plan, a simple logical plan. I thought that if I was
able to follow its rules everyday maybe I’d loose a few
pounds. And after a year those few pounds converted into 18
kilos.
I decided to change a lot of things that were making me gain
fat. First of all I needed a reason for doing it. I spent
whole nights thinking in my condition, how I could be able to
change it and why I was so unhappy with myself, wit my family
and friends. I found personal reasons to keep on, to live with
a positive perspective about life, and to be able to fell good
and be happy with myself...
So I started my plan. Making a few changes to start would get
me on the road .first I started thinking how could I make
sports without consuming so much time. I’d still have to study
hard because I had a scholarship so I needed the good grades.
So I changed my car for my old rusty bike. Even though I felt
a bit embarrassed driving it, it was a fact that I was going
to lose weight that way. So I ignored all of the jokes I heard
on street and paddled fast every time I felt some %&$%head was
going to tell me something annoying. So I was decided, every
time I needed to go anywhere I’d have to use my bike.
I also changed many of my favorite meals, like candies,
artificial juices, donuts, etc., for fruits like apples,
grapes and oranges (juicy ones), and fast food meals like
McDonalds or burger king for home made food, don’t get me
wrong here, home made, not supermarket made. I also quitted
sodas, candies, bread, etc. I just changed, from one day to
another, things that are known to be fatting, for ones I like,
but aren’t that easy to eat. I was recovering my shape.
Without going to any doctor, without taking any pills, without
making great changes in my life I was starting to recover my
old happy way of living. You might think those are big
changes, but I can say to you they’re not. They’re less
complicated than a by-pass surgery, more natural than pills,
and cheaper than anything else. I obviously would recommend
visiting a doctor if your problem is serious, but what I’m
trying to show you is how I made a big twist in my way of
thinking and got wonderful results. Of course some people
might need specialist help, but if you’re thinking to make
this simple changes I made I encourage you to do it. It worked
for me!
