Hypnosis for Weight Loss
Hypnosis is an alternative weight loss method, though has
shown to be very subjective. Whilst some respond well to
hypnosis, others have had no success at all, so it is hard to
determine whether or not it will work for you.
A hypnotist may try and focus on the cause of your excess
weight, be it too much fast food or comfort eating. They will
attempt to convince you into thinking that you don’t like the
problem foods, or that eating them will make you feel ill.
Alternatively, they may try and convince you that healthy
foods are a better option for you, and that you can change
what you eat in order to feel better about yourself.
Many people don’t believe in hypnosis, and others have
little or no response to the treatment and continue as is
normal to them. However, others claim that hypnosis has helped
them to give up smoking or stop craving chocolate. The results
are varied, and hypnosis may or may not work for you – it is
impossible to tell unless you try it.
There are next to no known side effects to hypnosis, so
there is no reason not to give it a try. It will cost money
though, and the better the reputation the more you can expect
to pay for a series of sessions. If you have had no success
previously, or just wish to try something different, then
hypnosis could be the answer.
However, it is believed that it is you that has to change
the way you think, and that hypnotists merely help you along
the right road. If you have willpower, you may not need the
assistance of a hypnotist as there is plenty of advice on
losing weight out there, but if you struggle to kick bad
habits then hypnosis may be worth a try.
