Losing Weight with Steam Rooms and Saunas
You can lose a significant amount of weight through saunas
or steam rooms. The high temperatures lead to sweating,
increased heart rate and a higher rate of metabolism. These
effects have multiple benefits – not only will you be able to
lose weight, but you will improve cardio vascular fitness,
open skin pores and increases the rate of healing damaged
tissues within the body.
Both steam rooms and saunas work on the principle of
bringing your body temperature up to a higher level than
normal. There are subtle differences between the two, but the
end results are the same.

fluid through sweating which can cause dehydration. You may
also feel some skin discomfort as the hot air can cause what
feels like sunburn. This does wear off in a very short time,
though again it is important to pace yourself to avoid
overdoing it and feeling uncomfortable.
You can burn up to 300 calories in a half-hour sauna, so
when combined with a healthy diet, significant weight loss is
easily achievable. The added bonus is that steam can help
tighten the skin, making areas of significant loss appear less
stretched.
Saunas or steam rooms are a fantastic way to lose weight,
though it is important to use the facilities wisely. They are
best used in conjunction with a more traditional form of
exercise and a healthy, balanced diet. This will achieve
improved all round fitness, weight loss and ensure you feel
healthier in general.
